Introducing: Watercolor Southern Birds!

Watercolor Southern Bird Prints Anna Kay Artworks

The inspiration behind my Southern Flower prints - vintage botanical prints - also incorporated local fauna, especially birds! So I'm pleased as punch to introduce you to the two gents that make up the first installment of the Southern Birds collection!

Tip your hat to the Yellow-Shafted Northern Flicker, Alabama's state bird, and the Blue Jay! These handsome fellas are such a great way to add a pop of color and character into your living room or sitting area - maybe you can even see one just like him through your window!

The Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker, as suits its descriptive name, cuts a striking figure in his bright plumage of red and gold. In addition to being downright pretty, his claim to fame is being the state bird of Alabama. He’d make a charming gift to new Alabamians, new homeowners in Alabama, or those who may have left the state but still love it dearly!

Darting through the woods in a striking shade is the aptly named Blue Jay. Though not exclusive to the South, I like to think his Chatty Cathy ways show his true Southern colors. He’s bold and assertive, and he’s not afraid to let you know what he thinks. (Kinda like some of my favorite Southern ladies!) Invite this painted version into your blue and white ginger jar-inspired living room, your sunroom, or even your bright breakfast nook.

Each 8"x10" print is available in one of three gorgeous 11"x14" frames: white wood, natural wood, and champagne metallic. All options come with white acid-free matting and a durable acrylic glazing. You can shop them by clicking the button below!
