Every other week, I sit down to video-chat with two of the sweetest, smartest, savviest small business owners around. We talk about things that we're struggling with, bounce ideas off each other, and celebrate everyone's wins. When it came to Big Hairy Audacious Goals (Good to Great, anyone?) for 2018, though, we knew we needed to be face-to-face and probably for a few days.
Y'all know my love for my former home town of Savannah, and it took absolutely no arm-twisting to get everyone on board for taking our trip there. Lindsey already knew and loved the city, and Rosalynne was dying to check it out. We couldn't have inadvertently picked a better time: we were there the one weekend in January that it got over 65!
There's no way to properly sum up how incredible it was! No matter your walk, having a strong support group around you is the key to success; the wisdom and laughter (and coffee!) share with these gals over the weekend filled my heart to bursting AND helped me over that initial new year planning hump for Anna Kay Artworks.
Luckily for me, my friends are excellent photographers and were kind enough to let me borrow a few snaps to show y'all our trip!
We stayed in an AirBnB - which, by the bye, is really the best thing to do if you want to stay downtown, and of course we did! Ours was in the perfect location for us, almost directly between River Street and Forsyth Park.
While the trip was mostly about work, we made time to explore (*ahem* shop) and indulge a little! Our favorite stops? The Paris Market, Savannah Bee Company, Forsyth Farmer's Market, Collins Quarter, and Gallery Espresso - all musts in my book! But if we're gonna get into my favorite things about Savannah we're gonna need some sweet tea and a rocker on the porch 'cause that could take a spell!
For our goal-setting, we held three "sessions" over the course of the weekend and dove deep into each person's list of items to talk about. The sessions happened fairly organically, so we ended up chatting for hours in coffee shops or on park benches. We left full of confidence and pralines, which is the sign of a perfect weekend!
And if you have a moment, check out the beautiful travel vlog that Rosalynne put together from our trip!
